Slattery has appointed Director Sarah Slattery as Managing Director.

Josh Slattery will step into the role of Executive Chairman, while Sarah continues to grow the firm underpinned by a progressive growth strategy.

The announcement was made today at the Annual Slattery Women’s Lunch in Melbourne which was attended by 130 senior women in property.

Slattery was founded by Peter and Cate Slattery 42 years ago in Melbourne, and has grown into a successful Australian advisory firm renowned for its appreciation for design and an inclusive culture that focuses on its people.

As founder, Peter will maintain his involvement in Slattery as a shareholder and mentor to Josh and Sarah, while also focusing on the award-winning winery he and Cate founded in 2000, Terindah Estate on the Bellarine Peninsula.

Josh, who was instrumental in growing the Slattery brand and business nationally for more than 12 years, said he is excited that Sarah will be taking on the role of Managing Director. “She is an excellent leader and has a real passion for our industry, which we have seen through her mentorship of staff, development of technical processes and her commitment to knowledge leadership,” he said.

Slattery, which is now one of the biggest property and construction advisory firms in Australia with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, will also continue to expand its footprint geographically.

Josh will focus on the future strategic growth of Slattery – investigating further geographic expansion into New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom, while Sarah will concentrate on Slattery’s clients and its people while working closely with Josh and the leadership team to implement the firm’s growth strategy.

Sarah has been a driving force in creating a strong brand for Slattery in its focus sectors of Education, Health, Transport and Commercial. She will use these key focus sectors as part of Slattery’s growth strategy – with plans to more than double the size of the firm in the next five years.

Another key part of the growth strategy will be the recruitment program that focuses on personal attributes over skill sets and continuing Slattery’s diverse workplace culture.

“At Slattery we focus on what matters which is why we have a workplace that reflects today’s Australia and we believe our clients are the beneficiaries of this approach. Our father Peter built an inclusive culture from the outset to power creativity and spark innovation. This has cultivated a sense of belonging, which in turn sustains retention, drives recruitment and creates a profitable, high-performance workplace.”

Sarah Slattery’s appointment as Managing Director is effective from 27 October 2017.
