About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to join our Melbourne team. You will bring demonstrated experience in project controls within infrastructure, rail, energy, construction or other major project environments.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering planning, scheduling, cost, risk, and performance management services to support informed project decision-making.
The role offers exposure across all project controls disciplines, including schedule and cost management, earned value analysis, project assurance, governance, change control, claims support, and forensic analysis. You will also contribute to the development of automated reporting solutions and digital project controls environment.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Developing and managing project schedules
- Performing schedule analysis, critical path reviews, schedule optimisation and performance reporting
- Supporting quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis (QSRA/QCRA) and project forecasting activities.
- Monitoring project performance through Earned Value Management, KPI tracking and trend analysis.
- Preparation of project controls reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
- Supporting project assurance reviews, governance processes, and stakeholder reporting and assisting with Extension of Time assessments, delay analysis, claims support or forensic schedule analysis.
What Does the Right Person Look Like
We’re looking for a project controls professional with a passion for solving complex problems and helping projects succeed. With strong organisational and analytical skills, you will enjoy working with data, turning insights into action and supporting informed decision-making across large-scale projects. With a passion for innovation, automation and continuous improvement, you will bring experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, VBA, Power Query or similar tools.
Combining your strong technical foundation with commercial awareness, you will bring a proactive mindset, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Success in this role will come from your ability to build impactful relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. You’ll be a confident communicator with strong report writing and presentation skills.
With relevant tertiary qualifications, you will be driven by your ongoing professional development through industry memberships, accreditation and certification pathways.
